If you’re a little sensitive to decoration, you can’t miss the Scandinavian style! Indeed, with its geometric lines and simple colours, Scandinavian style adapts to many environments. And even if you haven’t observed this trend, interior architect Laurent Hosana, today gives you his opinion on the Scandinavian style.
Straight lines and simplicity
Often, wanting to do too much in the decor, you end up with an interior with an overloaded style where there is too much information. Well the Scandinavian style is quite the opposite of that. Indeed, the Scandinavian style proposes to move more towards a minimalist decoration including mostly geometric shapes, typical of the 50s. The furniture is rather simple and airy so as not to overload the room. Thus, even for people with little passion for decoration, the Scandinavian style remains accessible and pleasant to observe on a daily basis.
100% natural materials, light and vegetation
The key element of a Scandinavian decoration is wood! It is an essential material for any Nordic style decoration. Indeed, naturalness has pride of place in the decoration because it brings a touch of serenity and makes you feel at home. In addition, Scandinavian style relies heavily on luminosity. It is therefore advisable to opt for white walls, which will better capture the outside light. But light can also be brought in through light fixtures and garlands. Furthermore, in Scandinavian style, vegetation is also very important, in order to recall the spirit close to nature. You can then vary the styles and sizes of plants to create a very natural decoration that will make you want to never leave your little one at home again!
