Businessman and entrepreneur with an atypical background, René Bertin is at the head of the holding company Groupe René Bertin. His group will employ up to 2,500 employees for a turnover of nearly 200 million euros. In addition to his job as a company director, sport is his other passion. He is a runner (5 marathons to his credit), a cyclist (ascent of Mont Ventoux) and a passionate golfer. During his time at Feu Vert, he was passionate about cars and motor sports, participating in races in the super tourism category.

René Bertin’s passion for cars and motor racing can be seen through his various professional activities. As a car salesman, he then created the Feu Vert sign. René Bertin had 27 car centres and the Feu Vert brand over 100 franchisees when he sold it to Groupe Monnoyeur.

After tackling the real estate and construction sectors, he returned to the automotive sector. In 1996, he founded the American Car Wash brand based on the concept of American-style car washing. He offers a variety of services in his car beauty centres, such as the renovation of headlight lenses.

Passionate about cars, René Bertin is therefore a speed enthusiast. He particularly appreciates the feeling of power and freedom that racing gives him. Pushing a competition car to the limit while testing his own limits is one of the challenges he has enjoyed. At the same time, it allowed him to release his excess energy.

During his time at the head of Feu Vert, René Bertin took part in various car races. Thanks to the company’s car centres, he benefited from the expertise of qualified personnel and the appropriate technical means for the preparation of his car.
