When it was created in 2010, Patriwine entrusted the care of the wines to the company Grands Crus Storage. We heard about problems with the management of this company and decided to transfer the wines of our clients that were under our responsibility. We carried out this move at our own expense and under the supervision of a bailiff in December 2014. We are very happy to do so since Grands Crus Storage is in judicial liquidation on June 7, 2017. Patriwine was able to anticipate in the interests of its clients.
A new storage place
We have chosen the Bordeaux City Bond (BCB) company on the outskirts of Bordeaux as our new storage location. This service provider is one of the best professionals in the world for the conservation of fine wines. BCB is majority owned by the CCI of Bordeaux and Vinexpo. Major names in logistics, trade and a bank are also part of the capital.
As far as the acquisition of wines with VAT suspension is concerned, Patriwine has its wines stored in Geneva. The wines are transported at Patriwine’s expense with Transports Fert in isothermal lorries to Switzerland in order to guarantee the best conditions during transport.
We started the storage with the Ports Francs de Genève, a mixed economy public limited company that is over 100 years old. Storage started in good temperature conditions in the general store. In order to avoid any problems, following the use of this storage place, we applied for a private room. In the new building delivered in 2014, this was done. Thus, we were able to obtain a private room of 200 m2 on 3 rack heights. We carried out the move free of charge and did not increase the cost of our service despite the improved service.
To date, our customers’ wines benefit from excellent storage conditions in one of the most modern warehouses in the world, with the best temperature and hygrometry control conditions with a sensor every 5 metres.
Unchanged costs
The fee is 1.5 € per bottle per year and the insurance fee is 0.4%. Patriwine takes care of the insurance costs during transport to Geneva.
Patriwine stores more than 100,000 bottles on its own behalf and that of its 2,000 clients at the 2 storage sites.
