Dominique Truy graduated in 1987 from the Faculty of Law and Political Science in Reims, France. He has had and continues to have a successful career in local government. For more than three decades, this father of 5 children has held key positions and actively participated in the development of many communities. Now at the head of the Services of Greater Dax as General Manager, he puts his experience and skills at the service of the commune and its urban area.
A successful career within French local authorities
Dominique Truy didn’t wait until the end of his studies to get involved in the French local authorities because in 1985, he joined the Marne General Council. There he held the position of Head of Child Welfare and General Welfare in the Marne Department.
The following year, he attended a training course at the National School of Public Health in Rennes.
In 1992, he began a new page in his career and joined the Lagny-sur-Marne town hall. There, he became Director of Social Affairs. From 1995 to 1997, he continued his career by joining Mantes-la-Jolie, a town in the Yvelines region, as Deputy Managing Director of Services. He is in charge of urban policy, urban renewal, the social sector and security.
He will spend time in Brittany when he obtained the position of Deputy Director of Services for the city of Lorient. He will then begin a two-year training course at the Institut National des Etudes Territoriales in Strasbourg. He leaves the Alsatian lands to land in Isère where he will hold the position of Deputy Director General of the Isère General Council. He will stay 2 years in this department before being chosen to take the position of Director General of Services for the city of Dax.
In January 2016 and within the framework of the mutualisation policy, Dominique Truy will be offered the position of General Director of Services for the agglomeration community.
Dominique Truy’s new missions
On 1 January 2016, Dominique Truy was appointed General Manager of Services for the Greater Dax Conurbation Community. His attachment to the city of Dax and its region has been nurtured by 8 years spent in the town hall as General Director of Services for the commune.
His missions are diverse and varied. He is in charge of the management of all the administrative and technical services of the agglomeration. He is a major player in the construction and implementation of territorial projects developed by the elected representatives of the urban area. The Managing Director is involved in the completion of major urban planning projects but also in the implementation of economic and tourism policies.
His first objective is the development of the agglomeration and for this purpose he intervenes in construction and rehabilitation projects. It has launched a major phase of development of transport, road maintenance and support for the Thermal sector. The Managing Director is also in charge of the communalization as well as the mutualization of the services of the city and the agglomeration.
Dominique Truy has become the cornerstone of this great and beautiful project that is the Grand Dax. His experience will serve the good and comfort of all.
