All you need to know about industrial building ventilation

The ventilation of an industrial building is a complex operation that includes a whole chain of processes: from the selection of regulatory parameters to the selection of fans. Therefore, it should only be carried out by experienced professionals, using modern computer simulation methods. As an expert in air conditioning, refrigeration and ventilation technology, BV Froid has the know-how to custom design and assemble complex industrial ventilation systems. Its highly qualified specialists work closely with the customer to develop ventilation systems that operate in an energy-efficient manner and comply with the applicable technical standards.

And that’s not all! Thanks to many years of experience, the company has succeeded in sustainably reducing its customers’ energy costs by developing energy-efficient climate systems.

What are the requirements?

When designing ventilation systems for industrial companies, the following requirements are imposed:

  • Compliance of the ventilation system with current fire safety requirements;
  • Availability of quality certificates for the materials;
  • The ducts must be made of stainless steel or coated with an anti-corrosion coating ;
  • The air ducts must be covered with a layer of oil or other combustible paint not exceeding 0.2 mm thick;
  • In the working area, the maximum concentration of harmful substances must not exceed 30%;
  • The calculated air temperature in the interior during winter must not be lower than + 10⁰С. At night or when no one is present, it may drop to + 5⁰С.
  • The sound load of a ventilation system in operation must not exceed 110 Db.

Industrial ventilation: what are the advantages?

Numerous scientific studies stipulate that the climatic comfort of offices and commercial buildings has a significant impact on employee productivity. Indeed, factors such as ambient air temperature, relative humidity and air flow rate can significantly reduce concentration and performance. In terms of employee satisfaction and peak performance, it is therefore very important for commercial companies to ensure climate comfort in all offices.

The professional design and dimensioning of office ventilation in terms of optimal indoor air quality must not only be guaranteed in terms of performance, but is also subject to legal regulations and standards, such as: room temperature, air humidity, carbon dioxide concentration, air exchange rate, etc.

Added to this is the fact that modern ventilation systems are cost-effective in the short and medium term. After a few years, an energy-efficient appliance can amortize the relatively high investment costs by reducing electricity bills and saving heating costs. Also, employee satisfaction increases due to improved thermal comfort and better air quality.

However, before making your decision, it is advisable to consult an energy conservation specialist who will take environmental variables into account to find an effective solution!
