In addition, they contribute to the creation of millions, if not billions of pieces of clothing and accessories worn by consumers every year.
What are their skills?
Fashion designers create clothes and accessories for women, men and children. This can include sportswear, maternity wear, underwear, evening wear. There are also accessory designers who design belts, scarves, hats, handbags, scarves, glasses and shoes. There are talented designers at all levels of the fashion industry, from well-known couturiers, to unknown prop designers working for ready-to-wear houses, to designers who make only small changes to existing designs.

Nowadays fashion designers are starting to use new technologies such as body scanning for more personalized designs. There are even seamless knitting technologies that can design clothes at the touch of a button. The high-tech textile industry will allow fashion designers to produce new product lines including those that incorporate, for example, sun protection, medical devices and other cutting-edge technologies.
What does a fashion designer actually do?
The fashion design process from concept to final production can take several months. Researching current fashion trends and forecasting future trends is the first step in creating a design. Some fashion designers do their own research work while others use publications of reports made by the major fashion manufacturers.
MJM Graphic Design also believes that trend reports allow designers to see which styles, colours and fabrics will be popular for a given season. Textile manufacturers use these trend reports to design fabrics and patterns while fashion designers work on designs and patterns. Designers then contact manufacturers to get fabric samples and determine which fabrics to use for which designs.
